Lovely news about #shelfhelp books from the Reading Agency

I was so thrilled to get the news from Walker Books that the Reading Agency has reported huge extra library borrowings of the 35 books on the Reading Well books on prescription for young people scheme. I am honoured to have two books on the list and imagine my delight when I heard that both of them are in the top ten borrowed books!

Big thanks to librarians, schools, GPs, CAMHS professionals, Walker Books, the Reading Agency and the readers of all ages who chose my books to be on the list. It’s a wonderful scheme and it makes me feel a tiny bit useful to know that young readers with anxieties or mental health problems are turning to books for help. Because books can help.

We call it #shelfhelp. It is part of Readaxation, too, of course.
