Shropshire Teenage Book Award

I was recently shortlisted for the Shropshire Teenage Book Award and, as I couldn’t be at the ceremony, I was invited to make this short video explaining why I write the books I do and why I care about teenage mental health. I don’t like making videos – as you’ll see! – but I want to get better at it so I thought I’d have a go. No second takes, either – which I’m proud of not because it’s perfect but because it’s NOT perfect and I’m a perfectionist so I was proud of myself for letting it go and not perfecting it!

Enormous thanks to the Shropshire school librarians for all their hard work and Concord College for hosting the event. And THANK YOU for including non-fiction – it is almost never included in award lists!
